The guys here are really nice, but don't be surprised if the fish etc that you want isn't ready for you on in the display - this chip bar tends to fry everything fresh as you arrive. So as you're queuing before you pay they tend to ask down the queue to find out what people want so that they can get it ready for you in a decent time.
The chips are awesome, and the portions aren't small. My favourite thing from here is the battered sausages, which I don't tend to like a great deal from other places but here they're great. On this occasion they only had one battered sausage ready (I wanted two - not for myself), and they cooked up the other one fresh for me while I was in the queue.
They also having seating in the back, although I've never used it. I often think that the smell of the chips in here is one of the best things on earth. One of the finest chip shops out there, and I think it always deserves more credit in those best of London lists out there but I guess this is how chip shops were when I was a kid and it hasn't changed much since. But in this case, that's a very good thing. -

A great local fish & chip shop! Near to the tube, I must admit the smell of freshly frying chips has dragged me to it, even though it's in the opposite direction of home.
There's almost always a queue, which means it's almost always freshly fried! The fish isn't cheap, nor are the big portions of chips - but 2 battered sausages and a regular chips is like £5 and is enough for dinner for 2 of us. And it's just delicious.
The staff are oddly charming, in their shouty not-a-lot-of-English style (Lady, what you want on chips?)
As far as I know, it's Pinner's only fish & chip place (until you go up to Hatch End) and that's saying a lot. I know I wouldn't go anywhere else, even if I had the choice! -

I just love this place, if I wasn't concerned about my weight I would be there every single day without doubt the most friendliest nicest fish and chips shop in England if not the world

Perhaps the best sign of how good this fish bar is, is how busy it is. We went there on a Friday night and the line was wrapping around. We waited about 30 mins but it was totally worth it. We all had large cod and chips and they were excellent! The staff were friendly and were working very quickly to serve everyone. We dined-in and the line didn't shrink for the entire time we were there. This is my new London fish and chips spot!

Agree that the queues here are very long, but believe a food expert like me, it is worth it for the fish and chips there. Service is friendly as-well. Heartly recommend!
